Roxy - Dr. Macik is doing my surgery on 12/3.  I had my pre op appointment with him last week.  I spent a little more time with him and when I went to the hospital and checked in at "admissions" the lady behind the counter who worked at the hospital said that Dr. Macik is her doctor and she said he is great.  One of the most.  That made me feel better.  Good luck with your appointment on the 5th.  Hopefully, I'll be home then.  Linda

Hola, Como Esta! Hello, How are you?
I'm Roxy and I am Pre-Op trying to decide on which surgery I will have if any. Every day I get a little more afraid :(  I am married but presently seperated :(  I LOVE MY JOB :) I am just very very confused and lost right now, I have siatic nerve (sp?) and a herniated Disk which I need back surgery but am hoping by loosing weight I won't have to have the surgery.

Hi,
I am pre-op; just started my 6 month diet. I am trying to decide which surgery is best for me. My PCP wants me to have banding since I am a relative lightweight. I have diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea and joint problems. I will attend a seminar in December. I have chosen my hospital based on my insurance requirements and I like what I read about several of the doctors there, so we will see about which one to choose after the seminar. Right now I am praying for guidance and peace about staying on course!

Hi, I am Jama and live in Sharpsburg (Newnan/Peachtree City area).  I had DS surgery on Oct. 23 with Dr. Dennis Smith in Marietta.  At five weeks out, I have lost 30 lbs. since surgery, 48 since I did my pre op weight loss.  I started at 337 and am now 289.  My goal is 141.  I had a great first week and then started being nauseated all the time.  The protein shakes made me throw up so I have not been doing too good with getting in my nutrients, but yesterday found a an egg/milk protein powder which seems to be doing ok.  That's me!
